Wacky Wednesday.

I thought it would be kinda fun to show you that non-perfect pictures that I take.
You know the ones.
The ones where the faces are weird. The people are positioned differently. Maybe slightly out of focus. LOL
The ones that you don't delete simply because they are worth a good chuckle every time you see them.

So here are some of mine.
These all happen to be from this past Christmas.

Yes??? Love my Christmas Elmo onsie. :)

Really you are taking a picture of me while I am getting the turkey ready? Seriously??
So for the next few pics you are going to see a handsome young man in the corner that kind of stole the spotlight from my hubby opening his Christmas present.

And of course my beautiful daughter had to get her fingers in the shot as well. LOL

Here he is again.

And again. lol kind of a picture hog. hahahaha

Look at me rockin it out. hahaha

Oh yea I am all that and a bag of potato chips. hahahaha Oh my maybe I should have deleted these. :)

Like mother like daughter. hahaha

Arghhhhhhhh!!

My turn for some photo bombing. lol

This is just so attractive in so many ways. lol

There is no words for this... hahaha
Ok maybe we are a teeny bit nutso. lol
Stay tuned for next week for some more wacky wednesday pics.

Playing catch up

Do you ever feel like you don't have it all together?
Or do you ever feel like your running a race and are in not only last place; but the starting gate still?

No???
It's just me??

So sad...

However in the off chance it's not just me I thought I would write a humorous look at how I can get caught up and 'forget' about being on that treadmill.

1. I love to read.
If I let myself I can read a book a day. If...I...let...myself. I say it like that because it's really easy for me to get engrossed in a book and 'forget' that real life is happening around me. That is until either I suddenly realize it's really quiet or else (which is more often the case) I'm needed.

2. I love to sleep.
I remember with great longing those days when I could sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep and... You get the idea. I spend now a good chunk of my morning in a daze filled with coffee and yawns as I manage struggle to function. Somehow I have to make sure Sarah does her chores, walks and feeds her dog and gets started on school work. Somehow...

3. I love to be outside working in the yard.
I WAY to often especially in the spring/summer/fall months love to be outside working. I love creating a spot of  'tranquilness' in which all I have to do is look at it and smile. Unfortunately all to often all this working out there can have it's toll. If I am fortunate unfortunate enough there is too much sun and I get sunburned. Or more often than not I am needed as I yell just 10 minutes longer and come get me. Then usually we are running somewhere me with a ball cap on and dirty stained clothes because I have no time left to change and we had to be there already.

4. I love to sew/craft.
I can spend hours and hours holed away in my new 'Mom cave'. I love it so much in there. However one thing I did do was put a clock in there because see all the above, I tend to get caught up in what I am doing and forget about the time. Then all the sudden it is 5 o'clock and I haven't started supper. (Planning meals usually helps....If I remember to plan them.hahahaha)

5. I very much dislike doing housework.
Although strangely enough I LOVE having a clean house and try to make sure every night before I go to bed my kitchen is always tidy and coffee is set up for the morning. That though could have more to do with my morning state of mind than anything. hahahaha
Now as you can tell I love to squirrel away and do other stuff until I am needed. Then as I step back into reality I realize my house has been hit by a tornado!!! Or a kid, dog, cat, life. lol Then either I walk back into my alternate universe and try hard to ignore what is happening out of my fantasy life or I have to spend hours in reality trying to make it so it doesn't look like we belong on a TV show.

6. I am a home body.
I am not fond at all of running errands or driving ms Sarah to all her activities.(read dance, dance, dance, youth, youth, and occasionally a play practice. ) (although since we moved those are few and far between)
That is probably why I tend to ignore the fact we have to leave and try to do just one more thing.
Although I did find it helps if I bring along a crafty thing for me to do while I am there. (embroider, crochet, read)

I realize that this is kind of a crazy humorous look at my life. But in reality I always feel like I am running behind. I always feel like I don't have it together and I always feel like I am failing in some way.
I have to have several calendars and write things down all the time. When I am organized and meal plan and check my calendars life is much easier. However when I get lazy and don't keep up that's when I feel like I am crazy.
The other HUGE key for me is to ALWAYS spend time EVERY day with HIM!!! I like to get up in the morning and spend time with Him, focusing on Jesus and loving on Him.

The other factor that I love is how He provided me with an amazing hubby who is there when I am acting a little insane. He keeps me grounded and reroutes me back to what really matters. Jesus, and my family.

I am linking up today with Kris today for List it Tuesday.
Hop over and share some love.
Also if this is your first visit to my site, I'm honored. I hope you enjoyed your stay and I would love to visit with you more often, so please come back again.

Holiday Day 3

If you missed it here I wrote about the first day.
Here I wrote about day 2.
So if you are keeping track today of course is day 3. LOL

I left you yesterday by saying we spent the night in Rosetown. My handsome hubby has a friend that lives in that community so we tried hard to reach him, but he was working. Also I found out while I was there I have a friend that lives not far from there in fact the next day we drove right by her house. Unfortunately she was not home either. :(

So we decided to head back in the direction of home but I wanted to make a pit stop at the Great Wall of Saskatchewan, which has extra coolness of being located near a town named Smiley. I mean how cool is that. That would be so cool to be from that area. LOL
Now if any of you know anything about Saskatchewan, is that the southern part of the province is FLAT! I mean see for miles flat, so to see a great wall??? We knew we had to make that stop!! lol

So off we went, stopping in Kindersley for some French Vanilla Capp's at Tim's we took off. It was a bit difficult to find as it was poorly marked and it had rained a fair amount so the roads were not great, but eventually we arrived at our destination.
Driving up to it. No real parking so we had to turn around and park in a field entrance and walk back.

One small faded sign explaining about it.

My handsome hubby pointing out the size of it.

They had these little place along the wall with all types of old farm equipment.

Along the walk we came across this sod house.

It always blows me away how thick the walls were and how dark it must have been in there.

My handsome hubby and I. And of course I'm sporting my awesome Ducky Dynasty gear. Love them!!
After there we started to head back to Alberta.
We got as far as Macklin and saw this as their tourist info booth. How could we not stop?? haha

So apparently the game of bunnock is a pretty big deal around these parts. Might have to go back one August long weekend and check it out.
Then right around the corner was Alberta.

I made him stop at silly things like this all the time. He's a pretty good sport about it. :)

The funny part about all of this is that shortly after we traveled into Alberta we hit road construction and were stuck beside the road for a good half hour.

The following pics are what 3 days in a car do to us. Or it could have been the forever wait on the construction crew. hahaha

Yep we were a little nutso by this point. hahahaha Too long without kids???? lol
Heading home. Sad for it to be over but loved the connection we regained during it.

The really weird thing is that the idea to holiday is Saskatchewan was my idea. I am a born and raised Saskatchwanite and wanted to explore more of my birth province. Typically we holiday in BC simply because we both LOVE it there, but I wanted to do something a bit different.
After this trip we started to look around at real estate there and realized what all we could get. One month later we were back looking at places. A week after that we put an offer in on a place only to have that deal fall through. 4 months after our holiday we moved into the first place we actually looked at in Saskatchewan.
I have to say I honestly love it here. I love or little piece of life that we are craving out.
So thrilled that we were led on this holiday not only for the fact it led us to this relocation, but also for ability for us to reconnect and grow closer to one another.

Holiday day 2

Part two.
Yesterday I posted about day one of our little get away.
Today is day 2.

After a rainy chilly night in Blaine Lake we headed to Rosthern and because we had picked up a site to see book in North Battleford we also knew we would like to check out Batoche.

These were neat metal sculptures of a family. Also I was using a different filter when I took this pic.
In Rosthern we checked out an old train station that they have converted for an art gallery and a small restaurant. The pics of the flowers were from their garden they had. I love flowers and decided to play around some with angles, etc. The restaurant by the way was delicious.

Loving some of the old buildings here. While in Rosthern we also checked out a cool second hand shop that was really neat and now that we live somewhat closer I am hoping to convince hubby to check it out again. LOL

This stalk of wheat was at their tourist info booth.

After Rosthern we started to head to Batoche. We had also heard about a place called Seager Wheeler Farms. It was a really neat place to visit. Although if you decide to go the parking is lousy.
However they have somewhat restored Mr Wheeler's farm and you are able to go into the houses, tour the yard and check out many of the different aspects of his farm. They also have a tiny gift shop and a pie place. We didn't buy from either. :)
Walk in closet.

One of I believe 3 homes still standing.

I am in love with cream separators. I wanted to sneak this one home with me. lol
After the farm we headed to Batoche.
Along the way we found this.
As we were driving up to it we see this.

So we pulled over up the road and walked back to take a closer look

Quite a bit slid off
Then we arrive at Batoche. This was well worth the crazy drive. There unfortunately is not many pics as I was feeling rough and we didn't venture too much around. But was so neat to see and I highly recommend this place as well.

After Batoche we headed towards Saskatoon. We had no real idea what to do next. We knew we wanted to eventually see the Great Wall of Saskatchewan. Yes there is such a place. LOL However we didn't know what else we would do.
Little did I know some wonderful people lived right by where we were driving and I would have loved to visit with them. Oh well hindsight right??

So we decided to journey down and spend the night in Rosetown.
That's all for today. Check in again tomorrow to see how we ended our journey. Also you don't want to miss the great wall of Saskatchewan trust me.
