3 in 30 update

Wow what a crazy couple of weeks it has been. Last week was intensely busy getting our work done outside as Rob was on days off and this week has been mostly pure stress. Through all that stress though I often find I am better if I clean soooo that is what I did this week.
We haven't done even close to everything on my 3 in 30 list but really it doesn't matter. We did some and we have the summer. LOL

1. 1. Finish all the work outside, other than regular summer maintenance of course.
We bought a gazebo for the outside to replace our old one. This one is better suited for the space and the old ones tarp was completely ruined. We want to build a small deck for it to sit on so that we will be off the ground and it should also make the space a bit prettier. My windows all need washed and I just want to clear out some of the junk we have.

Well we did a HUGE chunk of this. The old gazebo was taken down by Sarah and myself. Then when hubby came home we went and bought the lumber and built a deck. New gazebo is up and it is gorgeous. The windows got washed yesterday. The curtains were taken down, washed, dyed, ironed and re-hung today. The only thing really left outside is minor finish work on the deck and get rid of the junk.

In the process. That is landscape fabric that we laid down and then put sand on top.

My handsome hubby looking oh so impressed that I am taking his pic and not working. LOL

Almost finished. We still need to edge it with those cedar boards you see laying on top and stain it but we ran out of time. LOL Since this pic was taken I also bought 4 square containers and planted some more plants plus another 'mosquito' plant. By the time I realized I didn't have an updated picture it was dark so you will all have to wait until next week. :)

2. Clean out our spare room that has turned from our old school room to a junk hole. I promised my daughter that she could move back into there if she could show me she could stay on track. I did this for a couple reasons. One so she could have less distractions and I could carry on with my regular work when she was working independently and second is so I could have a good reason to clean out the room. I am a tad embarrassed to show you these pics but I am hoping it motivates me even more.

Ok this one is a big fat fail. I did go in there and attempt but honestly it was a bit overwhelming. I might have to let this one completely go until July. School will be done and we can totally clean out the room and make it work for Sarah.

3. We rent our home and the main bathroom desperatly needs redone. I am heading over to talk to the landlord this weekend and see what can be done about it. As you can see the tub and tub surround need replacing as does the sink, and the flooring. I am hoping that either he does it or allows it to be taken off in rent for us to do it.

Well never got this one accomplished either. I think now when Sarah and I are gone to Vegas I will have the landlord come in then and fix it. We will see. Either and or I am not worried about it.

It has definitely been a roller coaster month so far, but I have to actually admit I am really happy. I am letting HIM lead. It is scary and very nerve racking but also I am relaxed in many ways. I know HE will provide. :)

I am linking up this week with Aurie for the 3 in 30 update.
As well as with Michelle for Caffeinated Randomness.

I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!!!

  3. The deck looks beautiful and the gazebo even more beautiful. Awesome job! I totally want to see the finished photo of the gazebo. :D I have a some suggestion about the old school room: don't do it all at once (take it 15, or so, minutes at a time); break it up into sections or tasks (like clear right corner or clear the floors); also- you can do what I usually do- whenever you pass the room, stop and grab three (or five) things that don't belong there and put them away. I hope I was able to help you out. Best of luck.

  5. The gazebo looks great! When are you going to Vegas? I'm going for the first time in July for a weekend training event. Not sure I'll see much of the city but I'm looking forward to it no matter what.

    1. Thank you Tammy. I am going June 27-July 7th. I love Vegas. Not so much all the porn with it. But the excitement and the energy is amazing. Plus they have some beautiful shows.
